    Unhappy Error message after cut&paste Word-->Excel 2010

    I am working on a spreadsheet for our local photo clubs' expo. I designed the document to gather information in Word 2010 but saved it as a .doc file as all club members do not have the latest Word and some are working on Mac's.

    When I receive the Word forms I cut&paste the info into an Excel 2010 (.xlsx) spreadsheet. The spreadsheet has cells that allow choosing categories from a drop-down menu. It has cells at the top that automatically count the number of entries in each category. Each club is following the same process and sending me their club's spreadsheet to input into a MASTER spreadsheet for judging day.

    Initially I received an error message that was referring to a data range called _GoBack. Did some research online and it seems it was a bug so I deleted the range.

    Now I am getting the following message and, in my MASTER spreadsheet the drop-down menus are not functioning.

    HELP, I am not an Excel expert. What's happening? This must be functional by this Sunday!!!

    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

    It sounds like the excel file is corrupted in some way. some options:
    You can try copying the data worksheets into a new sheet (it is generally best to copy content and not entire sheet to eliminate any sheet corruption)
    save as html then reopen that html in excel

    Steve, I did a little more experimentation.
    Inserted a spreadsheet that had the _GoBack listed in the Name Manager

    When open again, says there is an error. This is the FIX listed.

    After accepting the fix code the _GoBack is removed.

    Does this code mean anything to you?
