You should be able to just right-click on the distribution list entry and select print from the menu list. This should produce a printout which lists the name of the DL and then lists each of the members and their email addresses.

    Hope this helps.

I tried opening the message with the DL. I selected the DL. I then selected File / Print and I just received the message, not the members of the DL. I opened the Address book icon and selected the DL. I didn't see the print command. Need more help???? What am I doing wrong.

Try adding the DL to your Contact list instead of the Address Book. If you right-click and select print from there, it should work just fine.

See my recent post to thread "New DL Question Outlook 2000 (Outlook 2000), 28-Nov-01 15:29" where I describe an Excel spreadsheet containing a macro that will automatically retrieve and display the members in a given distribution list. You could then copy the names to a blank worksheet (or Word document) and print. I'll attach the file to this message also.

    Sorry about that. <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>

The original message didn't mention that the DL was on an incoming message, so I assumed (wrongly) that we were talking about a DL already within your Contacts area.

Try either of Beckie or Matt's suggestions. They should help you to solve your problem.

    Cheers,

The attachment - Excel spreadsheet containing a macro that will automatically retrieve and display the members in a given distribution list. I can't get this to work. Is there a VBA person around??? It doesn't work for me.

<img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15> I apologize ... the macro in the spreadsheet I posted previously had a few bugs, foremost of which is that it was looking for the group name in cell A4 rather than A3 as the directions state. I have fixed the code to reference A3, to properly format the sheet when querying a new distribution list, and to inform the user if the group they are looking for doesn't exist. Let me know if this one gives you problems.

if the list is expanded, copy it and paste it in a file and print.

I go to A# and Enter my DL. I press enter. I get a message Compile Error. Can't find project or Library. I click OK. The VBA code shows. It hightlights the line - Private Outlook as new Outlook Application. ???

Re: DL Printing Outlook 2000 (Outlook 2000)

The error message is pointing to the line in the code where it tries to create an instance of Microsoft Outlook for the purpose of accessing the contacts listing. It fails when it tries to create the instance. This implies that Outlook is not installed or registered correctly (registered with Windows, not with Microsoft). My only suggestion is to re-install your version of Microsoft Office being sure to include both Excel and Outlook -- this is a bit of a drastic step, however.

What version of Office are you running. Check in both Excel and Outlook to make sure the versions are the same. In Excel, choose About Microsoft Excel under the help menu. Do the same in Outlook but choose About Microsoft Outlook.
