Windows 8.1 Pro Preview to Windows 8.1 Pro

I have the Preview on my laptop but not on my desktop computer. I was offered the upgrade to 8.1 (from the Store) on the desktop (Win 8.0) but not on the laptop.

I am running 64 bit on both.

What do I have to do to upgrade the 8.1 Preview to the new release?

You will have to reinstall all your desktop apps in the PC with the preview installed. This was discussed in detail when the preview was released.

I know. Although I hoped that would change... No joy there.

    Thanks Medico

The better method would have been to create an Image of Win 8 prior to installing Win 8.1 Preview. Then you could have quickly restored the Win 8 OS prior to starting the Win 8.1 upgrade.

The moral of this story for all you folks using or contemplating using a new OS, or contemplating major changes to your PC: Always create an Up To Date Image of the original OS prior to making the contemplated changes!
