Excel 2010 - Beginner help - dates along horizontal axis rather than vertical.. how can I change?

Hello folks, hope you don't mind a query for a beginner working in Excel 2010. I have a table in which there are several hundred dates which the person has put along the top horizontal axis, then 5 lines with a code - for what I want to do it would be much easier to do this the other way round - can anyone tell me how to do this (without programming?). Put another way, it would be much easier for me to have only 5 codes along the horizontal axis, with the hundreds of dates filterable in the vertical axis. The intersecting values are numbers which I'm wanting to calculate. Thanks so much! What I mean is below

    CURRENT COLUMN HEADS (Horizontal)

Code 1/1/12 2/1/12 right along to .... 31/10/2013 and so on
    A1
    A2
    A3
    A4
    A5

    WHAT I want

    Date A1 A2 A3 A4 A5

    1/1/12
    2/1/12
    3/1/12
    etc.

    Thanks so much!

    M

Thanks folks, I actually managed to find the copy/paste/transpose item and that's managed it fine.
