NET Framework update, may be an issue?

So I just received Susan's article and today I went to start updating the NET Frameworks. I now have a strange occurrence which I tried on another computer and got the same results.

Both systems are Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1

First computer, I unhid KB2858302 and KB2836939 (both because I never installed version 2 dated 6-10-2013). I reran the Microsoft "scan for updates". So the scan came back showing three of these updates; KB2858302 v2 checked, KB2836939 v3 checked and KB2836939 v2 unchecked. So I installed KB2858302 and I got the confirmation that it installed fine. I rebooted and then I reran the scan because I noticed this time around both KB2836939 were no longer offered. After the scan it does not offer either one anymore.

So I went and did the exact same steps on my other computer and the same thing; KB2836939 (both) are no longer offered. I went and checked in the "view your update history" and there is no sign of the two. I also went and checked the "Restore hidden updates" and both do not appear in there and I went and checked in the Add/Remove Programs under the "View installed updates" and also nothing.

Is anyone else seeing this? Do I have a problem on my systems? Or does the security KB2858302 somehow remove the necessity of the update KB2836939?

UPDATE: I just worked on my friends laptop, same Windows 7. This time I only restored KB2858302. I did see both KB2836939 on hers. After running the scan, then I installed KB2858302. Rebooted. Now I went to restore both KB2836939's, they are now not listed in the restore area. I went to my HTPC computer which has Windows 7 Home, did the same thing with the same results; both are now not listed.

What does anyone think about this?
