    Problem with USB Flash Drive

I have a 32gb flash drive that I store music to play in my car. I have used just over 9gb without any problem. However when I copymy mp3 music (not DM protected mp3s) to the drive now (problem started a few days ago) the files seem to disappear after the drive is removed. The folders remain but they report as 0kb and are empty. I always eject the flash drive properly and wait for the Windows safe remove message. Anyone any ideas. I have noticed that the LED on the flash drive still seems to flash after using the windows eject function.

Flash drives develop problems such as this over time; formatting the drive should fix it.

Or it may be that the drive is going bad.

Thanks friend. The drive is only 1 month old, but it is unbranded. However, a reformat did the trick

My guess is that "unbranded" explains it all. I've learned my lesson on cheap flash drives. I always get a name brand.
