    Windows 8 Update Error

Allowed it to do the latest update(s). Updates completed d/l with no errors reported. Rebooted to allow reconfiguration. After a significant wait (~20 minutes) I got this error message: "Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer." This displayed for ~30 minutes; computer restarted with no problem - but no updates.

    Updates log reported
    (1) WARNING: Failed to get ProtocolVersion: 8024043d
(2)WARNING: Failed to get service object: 80248014 (this warning was repeatedly logged)

Ok, fine, I get it that something screwed up. But, what? More importantly, how can I get the upgrade(s) to install?

Have you tried Control Panel, Troubleshooting, Fix problems with Windows Update (and click Advanced, then Run as administrator, Next)?

Thank you for the suggestion. Ran it, said it repaired some configuration issues but did not not specifically stated which one(s).
    Will attempt to re-update.
