Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 Side by Side

I've noticed in some of the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 commercials they are showing not two, but three screens side by side. On my Surface RT, although it is a little tricky to do so, I can get two programs running side by side, with a thumbnail of other programs running in a 3rd column on the left. Is the 3rd program running side by side in the commercial something that the new surface units can do, or is it just an attention grabber.

In 8.1? or 8.1 on the new Surface devices, 'cause I can't get three full on my Surface RT with 8.1
    Thanks John

It seems the requirement is a minimum of 500 pixels width per app.
