Installing from Windows 8.1 ISO
I managed to get the Windows 8.1 ISO file downloaded and a number of internet articles adives. However, when I ran it to install the OS it rejected my Windows 8 product code.
Has you heard of this happening; if so is there any advice, please?
Subsequently I upgraded through the Store. This morning my PC booted up into that awful yellow/orange geometric backscreen. There was an icon tray message to say that I had been logged into a temporary profile. (I use a local account and not a Microsoft account – 99.9% of my work is done in the desktop). All my settings had been changed.
After resetting my settings I rebooted and all seems well now. Has this been experienced by anyone else? Is it likely to recur?

On Windows 8 keys, have a look at Clint's post here: http://windowssecrets.com/forums/sho...505#post928505.
The profile situation, never had it happen with 8, but happened a couple times on 7. It is usually fixed with the next reboot, just as it happened with you.Rui
