Should we worry about vBulletin hack?

I notice WS Lounge was down today around 14:00 Eastern.

Also say this article in Ars Technica which states that vBulletin.com has been hacked:

Last I heard, WS Lounge was running on vBulletin software.

Should loungers be concerned (any more than usual)?

    Hi, Jock.

Other reports state that the cause was a compromised moderator account on one of the related recent 'hacks', either way, we're already looking into it.

The Lounge has not been hacked. The technical issues you experienced seem to me that are just the usual issues with the Lounge (probably VPS failing to respond properly), happens with me a few times every day.

The technical issues here are not dealt by any of us. iNet, the Lounge owners, have a dev team which deals with this and iNet runs multiple forums running VBulletin, so I think they are the most interested in this whole issue. At the moment, this is all we can say.

Thanks Satrow and Rui - good to know they are on top of it and that no lounge admin credentials were compromised by the vBulletin.com break in. I very rarely have any access problem with the Lounge, so when it happened just after I read the Ars story, it got me wondering.

It's a bit worrying knowing there is a code flaw that can make any forum vulnerable, but it's not clear this is the case, at the moment, so we'll just wait to see how this turns out.
