    Suggestions for Password Manager

I've been researching software for a Password Manager. Read all the info in Windows Secrets for the last year or so. I've been using Password Safe for more than a few years and it's done me good BUT I'm looking for one that will let me sync between 2 Win 7 PC's at home . They are tied using "Homegroup". Some of the ones mentioned in WS leave a lot to be desired after visiting their websites and when trying to figure out the syncing business without installing and checking them out.

    - Don't want one that will fill in usernames and passwords
    - Do want one that will sync the password file between 2 PC's
    - Don't use smart phones, iPads, etc so don't care about them either
    - Don't have WiFi in the house either.
    - Also don't want to store/update thru the cloud.

Can anyone recommend one? Don't mind paying.

LastPass syncs the passwords and other stuff (secure notes) between multiple computers. This happens automatically but you can also force a refresh manually.Don't know if it uses local networking to do it, but I would think not.

You can configure Last Pass so that it won't automatically fill login forms.

    Ed,

I use RoboForm Desktop. Then I use MS SyncToy to keep the PWs in sync between my 2 desktops & 1 laptop. The trick is to not sync the Licence.rfo file. You will however need to pay for a copy for each machine. Even though you don't want one that fills in PWs RoboForm will do that and I find that one of it's best features. YMMV HTH

I use RoboForm Everywhere. One license per person for all your devices.

KeePass will do that as long as you can see the databases from either machine. And it's open source.

    cheers, Paul

I also have been using LastPass for many years. Very easy to use and provides many other features as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. In my research, I've run across a piece of open source software - FreeFileSync. I may just try it. I can get by with running the sync manually (not that many changes on wife's PC to passwords). If this works with the present password manager (Password Safe), then that would solve my problem.

If not, based on what Paul said, I guess I'll try out KeePass since I'm pretty sure I can use Homegroup and set the both data base files to "share". If this allows both PC's to see each others file, then it should work.

Nope. I just thought the OP would be doing some research.

The cloud storage is the mechanism used to sync your logins over multiple devices. It is full encrypted. I have no qualms about using it. Since my device mix changes more frequently than some people I don't mind paying for something which keeps up with new version of operating systems.

You can also use Dropbox et al to sync the file and KeePass will manage the data - see the "trigger examples" in the KeePass help.

    cheers, Paul

Decided to just keep Password Safe and use it's "synchonize" feature after I set the password file on each PC to share. It's not automatic or scheduled but for wife and I and 2 PC's, it will work just fine. Thanks for all the suggestions.
