    connection problem

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 8 with a wireless connection to my router. I boot up and am connected online straight away but the icon in the panel, while it shows a full connection to the router, when I hover the mouse pointer says there is no internet connection. This is wrong as I am online, otherwise I couldn't be posting this. Unfortunately some of the apps will not run as when I try to go to the apps I get a message saying I am not connected. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way round it?

Thanks for the suggestion Roderunner but I'm afraid that it didn't work. I did the flush, got confirmation and then rebooted but the icon still says no internet access although I'm online now!

Have you tried to disconnect, then forget that connection and go through the setup process again? This sometimes fixes a corrupt installation, at least it did for me.

Open the 'Manage Wireless Networks' then select 'Remove Network' reboot then reconnect by inputting your passphrase.
