    Conditional Formatting Help!

    Hello All,

I'm having some trouble with a spreadsheet, or a few to be exact, but essentially I need to get some conditional formatting to work!

I am aiming to get the following few rules into place:

    C1 C2 C3

R1 A A B - If cell to left is same (but right is different) make text red
R2 B A A - If cell to right is same (but left is different) make text green
R3 A A A - If cell to both sides same make text blue
R3 B A C - If cell to both sides different make text yellow

Obviously there is more than ABC involved, i.e. its using many words rather than numbers, but hopefully it will give an idea!

Thanks in advance for any help you all may be able to give!

    Thomas,

Welcome to the Lounge as a new poster!

    Here's one solution:
    ConditionalFormatting.JPG

The rules in order from top to bottom:

    =AND(B1=A1,B1=C1)
    =AND(B1=A1,B1<>C1)
    =AND(B1<>A1,B1=C1)
    =AND(B1<>A1,B1<>C1)

Note: When entering the rules have the range to be colored selected, e.g. in this case B1:B4. The rules will work as written on any range as long as you highlight the cells to be formatted.
