    Sorting chart without sorting data

    Office 2013

Hi, everyone. I have a data set that I prefer not to sort, but I would like a bar chart linked to that data sorted in descending order by value. Is this possible? I couldn't find anything on the Chart Tools panel, and the Sort/Filter options are greyed out when the chart is selected. I'm guessing no, but thought I'd ask.

    Thanks for any ideas!

No, it isn't, I'm afraid. You could always create a separate table from your original that sorts the data and base the chart on that.

I kind of figured that might be the case. Thanks for the response!
