Why can I not complete a download of Windows 8.1 from Store?

My OS is Windows 8. I keep getting email reminders from Microsoft to upgrade to Windows 8.1.
So I go to Store and start the download. It does not successfully complete the download. I have tried many times. There is no error message. It just never manages to reach 100%. Any help would be appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken the Windows store should let you continue where left off, if you get cut off.
If that's not the case, then attempt an OS repair by running:
    sfc /scannow
Run the above command from an elevated command prompt.
To See and Read the SFC /SCANNOW Scan Results

Also ensure that you have downloaded any and all critical updates from Windows update.
Invest a little time and energy in a well thought out BACKUP regimen and you will have minimal down time, and headache.

The 8.1 download from the Microsoft store can be very painfully slow. It took over 9 hours for one of my clients.
