    hlookup (excel 97 sr 2)

    Hello all

    I am using Hlookup to find the month and then pull the appropriate figures for that month.

    I need to add together a range of rows for the appropriate month.

    Hlookup takes me accross the columns to find the correct month, but then will not allow me to put in ranges of rows and add them.

    Will sumif allow me to search accross columns to find the correct month?
    Will hlookup allow me to use ranges so that I can get multiple rows added together?

    If you have your months in A1-L1, the month you want to sum in M2, the row to start summing in N2 and the number of rows to sum in P2 then:

    =SUM(OFFSET(A1,N2,MATCH(M2,A1:L1,0)-1,P2,1))
