    Superscripts (Word 2000)

    Morning guys,
Can anyone tell me what the keyboard shortcut is to toggle the superscript key on and off? I already have it listed a a shortcut key on my toolbars, but I'd like to be able to not use the mouse if I don't have to.
I looked iup the toggle thru the tools, customise, keyboard menu's. This shows the superscript toggle as control++, and the subscript toggle as control+=, ...... However, when I try it, they both come out a subscript!!! Are my reading glasses defective? Has the program been played with by gremlins? Or is it Microsofties at their very best? Can someone please help me with an answer?

    Re: Superscripts (Word 2000)

This may well be language/keyboard dependent, but on my machine (German Word2000), supersripted is Ctrl++, and subscripted Ctrl+#.
The + is above the # on my keyboard, so it's rather easy to memorize.

    Re: Superscripts (Word 2000)

    Hi Debby,

If you try the following keyboard shortcuts you should have some success:

Subscript toggle Ctrl + = (press Control and Equal keys at same time)
Superscript toggle Ctrl + Shift + = (press Control, Shift and Equal keys at same time)

Now although this is, in effect, exactly what you stated in your post (Shift and Equal being the same as Plus), I get the feeling that you may not be using the Shift key as they are both coming out as subscript. The superscript shortcut definitely needs three keys pressed at the same time.

    Hope this helps you out.

    Hi Barry,
Thanks, and you were right. I wasn't using the shift key. It makes a huge difference when I press the correct keys! Thanks for the reply,
    Debby
