Intelligent Menu disable for Office 2000 on Win98s (Win98se)

Does anyone know how to disable Intelligent Menu (partial drop down menu with chevrons indicating more options) when using Office 2000 applications on Win98se. I do not have the option to turn off personalized settings in the taskbar/start menu option.

You do NOT have the box to check near the bottom?
See attachment, clearing the box will turn OFF the PM and give you what you want.

Go to the Tools menu - Customize... then the Options Tab.
Deselect 'Menus show recently used commands first'

You can also access the complete menu by double-clicking the menu item in the menu bar.

There may be as many as 3 places where you have to turn them off, depending on the version of IE you have installed. The Taskbar setting that Dave mentioned turns off the adaptive menus for Windows itself, the one that Steve mentioned is for turning them off in Office applications, and to turn them off in IE 6 Favorites, select Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced, and uncheck the Enable Personalized Favorites Menu in the Browsing section.

No, Dave, I do not have that box. I am thinking, is this an option loaded when using 2000 or ME or XP? I am on 98SE
