    Backlit key board

    Gentlemen of the Forum,
Have a friend who has an Acer laptop which has a lighted Key board I understand Sony has one also I am not necessarily looking for a back lighted screen if it has that also okay but I have been trying to find an HP with a lighted key board because I like them. Have checked HP Web site with no luck any ideas? Thanks.
    Phil.

    Hi Phil,

I tried a Google search for 'hp laptops with backlit keyboards 2013' and it brought a lot of options. Here are a few:

    Rui,
Thanks very much for that now I just got to fish through them all I don't need the touch screen ones not interested in w 8 want to stay with w 7 so probably can save a bit there and Best Buy is good they are where I bought my very first computer. I wonder why none of those never came up on HPs site?

I can't say why those don't show up on HP's site, Phil. This was just a quick search, took me just a couple minutes to make sure those shown had the keyboards you wanted.

    Phil:

A real easy way to achieve a lit keyboard is to get a USB goose-neck LED light. You can get them almost anywhere for just a few dollars. You plug it into a USB port, then point it at the keyboard. In this way, you can get the keyboard you want, without having to have the lighting in the keyboard.

In my case, I have an original IBM "click" keyboard. It would be hard to find a keyboard like that (and probably expensive) with lighting in it.

However, if you don't have any particular preference in keyboards, then it's probably better to just go with a keyboard that has lighting built in.
