    What is Python 2.7.6 software?

Secunia is showing on my wife's laptop (Windows 7 Professional, IE 11) that she needs to manually update the subject software. This software is not on her computer, at least we cannot find it in the Control Panel, etc. Anyone have any idea what this software is for? I sure can't tell anything going it its site.

Python is a programming language. It must have either been downloaded directly or through some app that uses it, but I can't say for sure, as I never used it.

    Scotirish,

Python is a programming language. You may have the run-time version on your machine if you installed a program that uses python and this is what PSI is telling you to update. Current production version is 3.3.3. Python Web Site. HTH

Thanks to you all for your input. We never did update the Python as recommended by Secunia. Funny thing happened this morning though. Secunia showed up clear and with all programs updated shortly after the laptop was turned on. Python no longer appeared. So, end of story -- unless it appears again! Thanks again.
