    Illegal Operation (Word 97/VBA)

    I've created a user form and now attempt to insert an AutoNew module. EVERY TIME I type the period in the line below, I get the following illegal operation message: WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module VBA332.dll

    Sub AutoNew()
    frmAffidavitMail. <<<<<illegal operation occurs
    End Sub

    I have reinstalled Office but this hasn't corrected the problem. I have also run the patches that Microsoft claims will resolve the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Illegal Operation (Word 97/VBA)

    Check your references (Tools>References) in the VBE to verify that the version is correct for Microsoft Forms x.x Object Library. If you are using Word 97 the x.x should be 2.0.

    If that's not it, verify that all the referenced library modules are the correct version. Is it possible that you have other Office products installed that are NOT Office 97 versions?
