    Forgotten Admin. Password

Was hit by a Trojan bad. Had to do a complete install of win 8. I stupidly created an extra account and made it an administrator. But...forgot the password I used and didn't write it down. I was signed in on a local account. Can't upgrade or anything until I know what to do. I did not create a reset disk.

Any advice beside doing a total reinstall of win 8.

    Thanks for any help.

Since you created an extra account as an administrator, I'm hoping you mean the true built in administrator account isn't the one with the forgotten password. If this is the case, you should be able to get into safe mode and clear the password in the additional administrator account you created

This article doesn't explain what I'm trying to describe but it does explain how to get into safe mode and user accounts if it isn't the built in the true built in administrator account that's affected

    Forgot Windows 8 ADMIN password

I have seen some other recommendations but I think its best to know whether or not its the true built in administrator account that's affected before doing more research
