How to get sound notifications back in Outlook.com?

I am using Gateway DX4840 desktop, Win 7/64 SP1 current w/updates from WinUpdate. Intel Core i3 at 3.05 GHz, 1 Tb Hard Drive, DVD +/- 16X combo burner, Intel HD Graphics, 8 Gb RAM, Roadrunner 15 Mbps. MBAM, WinFirewall, MSSE.

When I allowed MS to transition me from Live Hotmail to Outlook, I lost the sound notification when a new email arrives. Is there any way to get back to that sound notification? PS: The sound worked just fine in Hotmail. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Judy

Do you mean Outlook the program or Outlook.com? If you mean Outlook the program, which version of Outlook?

Well, I don't seem to know for sure. It is whichever MS moved me to from Windows Live Hotmail. I don't use MS Office but rather Open Office.

Then let me ask it this way. Do you use a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox or Chrome to access your email? Or do you start an application program to read your email?

You are accessing Outlook.com. Unfortunately, notifications are not currently supported by Outlook.com.
