Redirected printers not visible for users except Administrator

    Attachment 37509Hello,

I have a few users that work on a Terminal Server (Windows Server 2003) and sometimes a user need to print something on another users printer but that printer is not shown in printers list, although myself as an Administrator see all the redirected printers and can print to all of them.

Why Remote Desktop Users in my case can't print to other redirect printers ?

To use a printer it must be installed on your PC, or on the server and you are given permission. Printers connected via other user's PCs do not count as installed on the server.

In a network environment there should not be any locally installed / connected printers. Printers should be on the network and access controlled by the network admins, otherwise you end up with a printing free for all and it's always ITs fault when someone's local printer doesn't work.

    cheers, Paul

I solved it by giving print permission to specified user for a printer.
