question about W7 service - Network Acess Protection

Today I noticed that the above service was not turned on in my W7 SP1 system. I have a desktop and router, and stream movies through a Blu-Ray player to my TV's.

Do I need that service on? I know how to turn it on if it is deemed necessary.

    Thanks,
    Dick

No, it's an option for corporate or campus networks to allow only updated computers to connect: Network Access Protection

(When required, it protects their network, not your computer.)
