    padding a field with zero's (Access 2000)

I have a curent field which can be either ####. or ####.### the # represent actual numbers. I need them to be uniform ####.####. for example 8562. would be 8562.0000 and 8565.244 would become 8565.2440 Any help would be appreciated. The field name is ACCT CODES in table AP

Format([ACCT CODES],"0000.0000") will do what you want. If you are using numbers then Access will not store leading zeros. Therefore this code is for display purposes only. If Access stores 84.6 then you will see 0084.6000. I you can have an unbond field on your form and in the On Current event use Me.UnboundTextFieldName = Format([ACCT CODES],"0000.0000"). This would be one way to solve your problem.
