Dynamically Select Graph Scale (Excel 97)

Is there a way to set the scale of a graph to a cell value.

I have tried various combinations of cell references and named ranges ( = A1, = $A$1, A1, =named range, named range, etc) and the graph applet does not accept any of the values I enter.

Due to the nature of the data, the maximum value and the tick mark settings cannot be set to 'auto' and a static value is no good either.

    TIA

You'll have to do this in VBA. I usually do my charts in VBA because auto means automatically mess it up. If you can describe the data and the chart or better yet attach a sample workbook, I can write a macro for you. --Sam

    Thanks Sam.

I can handle the macro part so I needn't bother you anymore with that. What I was wondering, and you have answered, is if the 'auto stuff up' features could be tamed using other than macros. I could only hope I suppose....

    Thanks again.
