    Uninstalling KB2862330

As a result of reading Susan Bradley's Patch Watch article in the current Windows Secrets Newsletter I decided to uninstall update KB2862330, but when I tried to do so via Installed Updates uninstallation failed.

How can I sort this out?

    Please advise.

    Thanks and regards,
    Roy

If you successfully installed the fix and are not having any problems there is no reason to uninstall it.

Joe, the reason I was trying to uninstall it is that I have a USB connected drive with 2 partitions which is not always recognized when I switch it on, and I thought perhaps the update might have caused the problem.

Do you have any further comment?

    Please advise.

    Thanks and regards,
    Roy

Were you having problems with the drive before the patch was installed?

Do you have a restore point prior to the updates that you can use and then just reinstall the others.

It's possible that the update had caused the problem as it installs a newer version of the usbport.sys file.

You can try the uninstall in safe mode.
