Sleeping computer wakes up when the mouse is moved

This problem started occuping a few months ago. I only use the computer on weekends so I didn't attend to it right away, but last month I got around to fixing the problem. Some BIOS settings had gotten knocked out of whack. I simply had to find the settings and correct them.

A week or so later, the problem was back.

What should I look for here? A virus infection is the only explanation I can think of, but I've scanned the disk and found nothing. Anyway it seems like a very unlikely thing for a virus to do.

    J,

Sounds like you need a new CMOS Battery to me. Is the computer keeping proper time? This is usually the first sign you need a new battery. HTH

Uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer" at Control Panel, Device manager, your mouse, Properties (right-click or double-click), Power Management tab.
