    Win 7 32 bit won't format 3TB Hard Drive

    Hello
requires 64 bit, did not know that before I bought the drive. is there a way to do it? if I must get it formated by a 64 bit OS will I be able to see it on my 32 bit windows. Related, I have retail version of windows 7, will MS allow me to reinstall as 64 bit and validate with the same serial number?
    thank you

You can use 32 bit if you don't mind using Seagate Discwizard and requiring two partitions. Pay special attention to the note on RST driver if using an Intel motherboard.

Yes you can do clean re-install using the 64 bit disc and the same license. Normally it will activate OK if OS has not been installed more than twice but there is a telephone option if it does not.

Agree with Clive above but you should note it will be a clean install, make sure to back up your data beforehand.

Your hardware has to support 64 bit in order to install 64 bit.
Create a new drive image before making system changes, in case you need to start over!
