    Prevent Pop Up ads

Whenever I use Internet Explorer I get annoying pop up ads such as Spyware Detected, You have (1) unclaimed prize etc . Click to accept. I would like to know how to prevent these and what software will do the trick

I have attached a screenshot sample

Your assistance in this regard is most appreciated

Do you have a check in the box beside "Turn on Pop-up Blocker" on the Privacy tab in Internet Options?
Create a fresh drive image before making system changes, in case you need to start over!

You need to run a malware scan using MalwareBytes from https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Thanks for the reply. Have downloaded malwarebyte free version and problem resolved.

What are the added benefits of the paid version?

Then you may already have malware on your system. Give Thomas' suggestion a whirl.

See the chart on this page for the differences between the paid and free versions. Unlike most anti malware apps, it's a one time fee vs a subscription.

That may not be true for much longer. I've recently seen this at several techblog sites:

"The release of Malwarebytes 2.0 will come with a less popular change in tow, however: the shift to a subscription-based model costing $24.95 per year for coverage of up to three systems."

That's true but I've heard if you buy it now, you will be grandfathered in without a subscription.

That's what they're advertising. In fact, I'm in the process of purchasing two licenses, now. The second is discounted to $20.95. And it does say lifetime license.
