How to Make New Tab Active

I am setting up a new Win8.1 laptop. I've noticed that when I click on a link and select open in new tab it does that but the currrent tab remains the active one! I have looked and looked and cannot find the setting to make the focus go to the new tab. I'm sure I made that change in my Vista IE many years ago but I don't remember where the setting is.

    Thanks,
    Bill

Try this. Go to Settings | Internet Options | General (tab) | Tabs (button). In the top section "Tabbed browsing" check the box for "Always switch to new tabs when they are created".

Thanks, Joe, that was the key! I don't know how I missed that obvious TABS entry in the middle of the settings dialog box!

    I'm all set for now.

    Thanks,
    Bill
