I have used Emsisoft Antimalware for 2 years now (just renewed for the 3rd year), so I did get the Timeline license as well.

EAM is a very great antimalware package, constantly ranking very well on comparatives and with capabilities that offer some trust, when compared to most of the competition. I like it's low footprint, it's behavioral detection (which allows it not to rely solely on known malware signatures) and it's price.

Can I say EAM is effective? Well, I use EAM as part of a multi-layer strategy that includes a HIPS. I have also never been infected before (even when I used something else) and my defense apps haven't caught anything bad, but I do feel more confident knowing that I am running one of the best apps in the market.

About Genie, I got two licenses with the renewals. I confess I won't be using them, since I don't need an app like Genie. My regular imaging regimen and Cubby provide all the backup I need.
