Malware Bytes Pro moving to an annual subscription rather than lifetime fee

Free version remains free. Pro version is well worth supporting.

    Jerry,

Very Interesting. However, they are still selling Lifetime Licenses which I sure hope they continue to honor as I have 4.

    RG, from my link:
Malwarebytes says that its customers who have already purchased lifetime licenses will not need to pay the annual subscription fee, and the company will continue to offer lifetime licenses for a short period to ease the transition for those users who have wanted to take the lifetime plunge, but have yet to do so.

Ha! That's what they say now....

I have seen this happen before....I'll just wait and see..

I have the lifetime license and if they do renege on that then I will just run the free version every now and then...
24.95 a year is kinda steep...

For the number of problems this program has fixed for me in dealing with infected computers, I would happily pay $25 a year.

Well Jerry, I understand what you are saying but in my case it rarely ever detects anything and when it does it's usually something minor or a false positive.

But, I do like the extra layer of security...

I understand. We all have different needs. I received one machine that I ran Malwarebytes on and it detected over 500 objects! The box ran great after cleaning them out.

Oh I know what you mean Jerry...

Most people need all the help they can get....

I only have to worry about the three I have here and a couple of others that I remote to check every week or so..

We shall never know whether the Free version would have been equally successful!

As far as I understand, the only difference between free and paid is that the paid runs real time..
    That's why I bought it.

I'm sure it would have been. I just feel better supporting a product I get so much use out of.

The additional features that distinguish the new Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PREMIUM and 14-day TRIAL versions from the FREE version are:

    • Malicious Website Blocking. Prevents access to and from known malicious webpages.
    • Real-time Protection. Detects malware automatically in real-time, before it can infect.
    • Hyper Scan Mode. Scans faster by only looking for active threats.
    • Scan/Database Update Scheduler.
      • Scheduled incremental database updates. For those users with slow or dial-up Internet access, the incremental database updates are far smaller and faster.
      • Scheduled Threat, Hyper, Custom, and Startup system scans.
    • Malwarebytes Chameleon System Driver. Prevents malware from terminating Malwarebytes Anti-Malware or modifying its processes.
