    Very strange situation

I'm not sure where to even post this question, but I'll try this Forum.

I bought a CD of songs by a group called Lindsey Lou and the Flatbellies.

I imported the songs on to my computer and use Itunes to play them. That's what I do with many of the CDs I buy.
I then burned a few of the songs (and other songs from other CDs) on to a CD so I can listen to the songs in my car.

All the songs play great. The names and artists are correct, EXCEPT:
Instead of Lindsey Lou, it says Lindsey Lohan.

    I am serious!

Any ideas what is going on.

As I said, the artist is correctly named on the original CD, the computer files, and the CD I burned.

Somewhere in the mix it sounds like an auto-correction trying to help out and it's never heard of Lou so it substitutes Lohan without the ability to ask you if that's correct or not.

What is the make and model of your car's CD player?

Sounds like the database used to look up the CD info is incorrect, it's surprisingly common how often this occurs.

Mrjim: I don't know the make/model. My car is a 2013 Chrysler 300. The manual says:
    >>>>>>>>>>>
Your vehicle is equipped with a Harman Kardon® audio
    system with GreenEdge™ technology
...This surround effect is available for audio from
any source - AM/FM/CD/ Satellite Radio or dashboard
AUX input; and is activated through the Uconnect®
    System.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I don't think that answers your question

I agree that it must be some kind of autocorrect. I have, literally, 94 songs on one CD and 84 on the other. ALL the other songs have the correct titles/artists.

Browni-- I though the CD Player picks up the song/title from the CD. Obviously, this is not correct.

It will do. If you look at the CD in Windows Explorer you should see the track info, however, it's where that information came from in the first place that the problem lies.

You say that you use iTunes to play your music on the PC, did you also use this to import them?

Browni-- yes, I used Itunes to import. But the files imported to my computer, under properties, list the correct artist

    Hmmm, that's strange.

Does the CD show the same information in Windows Explorer?

It does answer my question a little bit. As the name implies, Uconnect is connected. And the technology is brand new, which typically means "connected".

My guess is that it is autocorrecting the name.

I'll bet your stereo sounds really nice.

No need to shout, I'm only trying to help.

Must admit I'm stumped and I import CDs & Karaoke CDs for fun for my landlord who is a DJ.

What do you see if you right click on one of erroneous tracks on the CD and select the details tab from the properties window?

    Browni:

Didn't mean to shout at all.
When I said the correct information was on the CD, that's what I meant. I right-clicked and selected properties. I don't remember all the details (I can do it again if you'd like), but it was all totally correct information, including the name of the group.

I can do it again and post a screen shot.

Incidentally, I intend to have some fun with Lindsey Lou fans. My wife was flabbergasted with Lindsey Lohan appearing!!

    Here's the evidence

OK, in case you thought I was trolling, here is the picture of the screen in my car and also the properties of the actual file on the CD.
    THIS IS SO FUNNY!

Your car is a Lindsay Lohan fan?

More seriously. Can you confirm if there is WiFi in your car? If so, is there the possibility of shutting it down?

    Mel.

I never thought you were trolling, if I did there wouldn't have been any replies here.

    Anyway,

Thanks for the screenshots as that has ruled out one of my thoughts that the Contributing Artists & Album Artist have somehow got mixed up.

What happens if you try the CD in a friends car?
