dsofile.exe

Hi:

I've been trying to download this file from Microsoft for some time. It's described in
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/ar...s/Q224/3/51.ASP.

I've gone thru the knowledge base & the tech net site on Microsoft. I cannot download this file; I cannot connect to it. Does anyone know where I can download this file?

(I need it for a macro that will change attached templates on files in a batch method. The macro was described by Allen Wyatt in Word Tips Premium this last Saturday.)

Thanks for any help.

Thanks, Leif. How were you able to get it. The link from the KB is incorrect; when I search the KB, it's circular--it takes me to the article & then gives me an incorrect link.

Clicked on your link then clicked on the download link.
Maybe I get it from a UK mirror site?
Maybe someone from MS is monitoring this forum and quickly jumped in and fixed it.....

Re: dsofile.exe

Hmmm. Someone's playing a trick on me. I still can't get the link to work. When I click on dsofile.exe, I get a message instantly that it can't find the server. I tried with both Netscape & IE.

Well, thanks for getting it for me. Now I just have to make sure I install it correctly.

Re: dsofile.exe

Funny, when I try to go to msvaus.www.conxion.com, it redirects me to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ where a search for dsofile.exe comes up empty. Even their dll database doesn't contain dsofile.dll.

did you clear your browser cache or could your isp be pretending they are AOL and caching pages?

Re: dsofile.exe

I didn't clear it recently, but I do clear it ocassionally. I tried it with both NS & IE. I will try clearing the cache; I just have a feeling that it's not the solution, since I can't even find the file with a search. Earthlink doesn't usually have the AOL problems. Thanks for the idea. I will try it though.

Remember that MS sites have been having some issues(problems) in the past several days. The mirror sites might be working and the local are not.
Just a thought ( that could be dangerous).

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Re: dsofile.exe

I didn't know that. But why would some be able to get thru or get redirected correctly, but not others? I'm going to try back in a week or so.
