How to Undo a Bad File Association

I am setting up a new laptop running Win8.1. I made a mistake and associated .bat files with my text editor (UltraEdit) thinking that if I double clicked a .bat file it would still run (execute). However, it turns out that doesn't happen; double clicking a .bat file causes it to open in UltraEdit. Now I can't find any way to get rid of that file association! I can change it to some other program but I haven't found any way to make it resort to "Unknown Program" like it was to begin with. Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Bill,

See this link. I know it is for Win 7 but should work just fine in Win 8.1. You can create a restore point before merging the .reg file just-in-case! HTH

Thanks for the suggestion. I seem to be back to normal now.
