    Footnote Formatting Lost

I saved a document with several footnotes into a .docx, then .docm format. When I reopened it, the footnotes appeared as part of the body text, and not in headers. Any ideas?

Your description is confusing. Footnotes should never appear in headers. Please clarify.

Unless the document has arrived in its current state via an import from PDF, I'd suspect some form of corruption. Without actually seeing the document, though, it can be difficult to diagnose the issue. Can you attach the document to a post (delete anything sensitive)?
