    Unable to add to the ShellNew Context menu

    I went through all the steps, I believe. Below is what regedit shows. But the item does not show in Explorer's New list.

    Why?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

    More information would be helpful. What steps did you perform? Where in the registry is this key?

    Joe, I created the keys in the registry as shown, and rebooted.

    What is the registry path? What do you expect to show in the context menu?

    Joe,

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dbp]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dbp\ShellNew]
    @="Open"
    "NullFile"=""

    There's the registry path and entry.

    I want an entry in the Explorer ShellNew for "DBPost" that would then default as a Word-type file.

    I can associate dbp files to Word, but I cannot seem to get it to show in the "New" listings.
