Lost recycle bin

The Icon disappeared from the desk top quite some time ago. (My cat did it I swear) Which was OK by me as I use the delete key. Only I just tried to find the list of deleted items and all I can find is a folder C: Deleted which lists everything with weird numbers. This seems to be where the system has hidden the deleted files. Only when I try to delete from there it asks if I want to put them in the recyle bin and they show up right back in the same place. Somebody else must have done this some time.

Am I going to have to reload the recycle bin from my disk? Can I reload just the one item? If I can find a way to delete the files in this folder (preferable selectively) I don't want to have to try reloading and chance messing up even more.

    Try:

Recycled Folder Icon Appears in Directory Listing Instead of Recycle Bin Icon (Q231838)

    Tx Leif

It got even more interesting. Norton claims the recycle bin is empty it can't find the files at all. And when I told MS tools to clean out the Recycle folder it tried to connect to the internet. I was tempted to tell it to go ahead and see if it would attempt to delete the whole internet.

I appreciate the link and will give it a look.
