    Persistent Cookie Best Practices

I just want to see if I'm being overly paranoid.

On bank, etc. websites I never click the Remember Me checkbox when is asks the security questions. I use StickyPassword and copy the (mangled) answer from its site management page for the login screen. I do not trust cookies to be secure and never use them. Am I being overly sensitive?

    Thanks,
    Jim

I think your sig line is well justified in the situations you are describing: a bit of paranoia won't hurt you at all. I never have my browsers record passwords inserted for sites like banking, paypal, or similar.

Whatever makes you comfortable. I use a password manager when I access banking accounts. Very few if any banks will store information in cookies any more. I'm surprised yours has a remember me option. None of my financial sites have that option and have User ID and Password on separate web pages.

you can never be too paranoid

only too gullible or too careless or too naive

they are out to get you
    you need to protect yourself

i do not use our banks online services
as their security does not meet my standards
