    Setting up printer via VPN

    hi all.

I have a vpn ipsec setup from my office to my home.
I have printers at the office and 2 at home.
im setting up one of the printers on a printer server.
which setting is best to use, Raw or LPR?

RAW is always the correct answer in Windows. I've never seen LPR used in a Windows network - that I can remember - and that is a lot of years looking after Windows servers.

    Thanks Paul.
If I setup more than 1 printer I know to give it it's own IP but do I still use the same port number?

    Thanks Dan

Yes, port number is a function or the type of printer port - RAW is port 9100. To address the printer you would send data to the IP address : port number, just as you do in your browser - the default port is 80.

    cheers, Paul
