    Shortcut Icon Arrow

Windows 98 SE. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the arrow automatically embedded into the bottom left hand corner of a desktop icon when a shortcut is created?

    Thanks in advance.

Get <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.microsoft.com/NTWorkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp> TweakUI </A> Microsoft. You will find what you need on the "Explorer" tab.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

This works in W2K and also, I believe, in W98:

Right-click your desktop and select Properties then the Appearance tab
At the 'Item' drop down box select Icon
Change the size from 32 to 30
    Select Apply

    Re: Shortcut Icon Arrow

Sorry, but this just reduces the size of the icon and leaves the arrow. (I just tested it.) But thnx for the tip for W2K.
