    XP and PCAnywhere

<img src=/S/crossfingers.gif border=0 alt=crossfingers width=17 height=16> I have heard that PCAnywhere V8 will not run on Windows XP. Can anyone throw some light on this problem.

Probably correct. PcAnywhere v10 added support for W2K and 10.5 added support for WXP.

I can also vouch for this. XP balks if you try to install pcAnywhere unless it is v10.5. It's because pcAnywhere has so many low-level hooks in the system - and if you ignore the warnings you will hose your machine.

Oye ve. Yet another upgrade. Can someone tell me why there isn't a Remote Assistance client for other platforms so that XP can talk to those machines too?
