form for viewers to email site to friends (FrontPage 2000)

1. I want to provide a form on my website inviting visitors to email the URL of the site to their friends, with a standard message attached, such as "Hi _____. Thought you might be interested to have a look at this site. Cheers!".

2. How do I go about providing a box on my website for visitors to click on and tick to subscribe to my regular newsletter (ticked boxes to result in the visitor's email address being sent through to me, along with an indication that they wish to subscribe)?

3. I'd also like a frame or something to pop up when they submit, confirming that their submission has been successful and thanking them for subscribing.

Does my server need FP extensions to do 1, 2 and/or 3? (I am with Netfirms - they do NOT have FP extensions, but using FTP to publish, everything currently on my website works fine, just as I designed using FP2000).

Grateful for any tips on how to go about 1 and 2 using FrontPage 2000 and my current server.

Cheers

Take a look at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=front&Number=34352&Sear ch=true&Forum=front&Words=email&Match=And&Searchpa ge=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=34259> this post</A>, I wrote a while back on connecting to email. I know this is only part of the answer to your question - but it sounds like your ISP might not be the best place to set this up with.

Cheers

I use a simple email script to handle this. (see )http://www.searoom.com for it in action.
-----------------------------------
&lt;IMG"]http://searoom.com/index.html">*</FONT>
---------------------------------
Substitue your settings. The <A href="mailto:?Subject= > launches the email client and places the subject and initial body copy in the email. I made up a simple gif to display on the page.

You don't need FP extensions for this.
