    Installing programs from the Web

I have a problem and want to pool the brain trust.

We have Windows 8 and have made it look like Windows 7. We have volunteers who install coupon clipping programs etc. We have the UAC set to the highest level. Other than going back to Windows XP is there any way to prefer a standard user from installing any programs on the system?

    Thanks much

    Chris

Note that the article in post #2 will disable only installation packages using Windows Installer. Third party installers will still run.
