Programs in the Start Menu Disappeared

    Hi folks
Have been using Windows 7 and just recently I have noticed a
number of programs in the start menu seem to have vanished.
Is there an easy way to replace these? Did a virus check just
in case but things seem to be clear. Any help appreciated.
    Kind regards

    What programs disappeared?

Have you installed any updates/upgrades to these programs?

Do you have a restore point available to a point in time when the programs were in the start menu?

All programs apart from the Microsoft programs.
Haven't made any changes to any programs.
Don't have any restore points at all for some reason:-)

Does the Start Menu folder exist in the location the KB article lists?
