Exclamation Receiving contact form spam from my email address in Windows Live Mail

We have a contact form without a CAPTCHA on our site (currently being replaced in site upgrade). I often get spam emails which I don't open, move to Junk and then delete.

When I checked one just now (Properties - Details - Message Source), it was the usual spam message but my default email address was in the From field!!!

What's happening and what can I do about it?

Any help appreciated. Trying hard not to panic!

    Linda

All this means is someone has your email address, which is to be expected. It doesn't mean someone is impersonating you so no panic is required.
I would check some of the other emails to see if the source is the same. If so it may be that your form uses your email address - it needs something otherwise the email is not valid.

    cheers, Paul

Thanks so much, Paul, for setting my mind at ease!

When I checked some of the other emails, I found my address as the sender in all of them. I guess it has been all along, but I'd been looking more carefully at everything with all the Heartbleed chatter!

    With relief,

    Linda
