yes, and again now. the jist of error is: mirror error, mirror is empty, site not found or no connection, does site still exist, check proxy [i have none]

so it never starts copying for more that one second

    thanks

If you can't get HTTrack to work, why not look at FileZilla?

I suspect more people have used FileZilla (however awful the name) than have used HTTrack, hence the lack of response...

what it got to do with this

FileZilla is an FTP program for file uploading and downloading to and from your FTP site, server, or host. The program lets you transfer files and navigate among folders, Web sites, and your computer. This software enables you to perform multiple file transfers simultaneously.

You can usually access your website via FTP, which facilitates downloads and uploads. Even Dreamweaver does it this way!!

    Hi, qaz.
Apparently BATcher assumed (as I did initially) that you are trying to download a copy of your own web site (which FileZilla can do easily). However, if you are attempting to download a copy of someone else's web site then that wouldn't work very well.

If your problem arrises because you're trying to copy a web site to which you don't have admin rights, then it would be helpful if you would tell us the URL of the site you're trying to copy (there may be code within that site's HTML which prevents your program from doing its job).

We can't know that unless we are able to try it ourselves.

You are entirely correct! I had implicitly assumed that he owned both websites...

Having looked at the program (HTTrack) and the web site in question I'm afraid that I'll have to bow out of this discussion.
I simply don't have the time or inclination to address your problem, qaz. Sorry!
