Convert TOC to formatted text (word97SR2 et al)

I'd like a simple way to convert a Table Of Contents to text.

Typically I want to email the outline and TOC of a training manual to a client. I don't want to email the training manual in toto, and if I Edit Cut the body from below the TOC, The user will get an empty TOC - and a poor impression.

I've tried Copy/Paste through Notepad, but then I lose indentation, especially annoying if I've taken the trouble to employ 3 levels of headings/indentations.

I've tried Copy/Paste through both Wordperfect and Wordpro. The results aren't good.

I could write a simple VBA macro to loop through the elements of the {TOC}, but I thought to ask first if anyone else has needed a solution to this problem.

    Thanks

The keystroke to convert a field to text is Ctrl/Shift/F9. If you select the TOC, which is a field, then do that keystroke, it will become text.
